Meet The Trifecta Acne Treatment

Everyone deserves to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin and body. That’s why we have implemented the Trifecta Acne Treatment!

However, acne poses an immediate challenge to this as many face insecurities about their altered appearance caused by their physical acne.

Others may even feel emotionally burdened by this persistent and exasperating problem that seems to have no universal solution.

Although all patients share a similar desire to possess clear skin, each patient’s journey towards their desired goal is different as each skin type is inherently unique. F

or this reason, there is a wide variation of common acne types, including but not limited to the following: comedonal acne that causes blackheads and whiteheads from clogged hair follicles and sebum, pustular acne that is characterized by inflammation and pus buildup from dead white blood cells that fight infection, as well as hormonal acne caused by sex hormones (progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone) and the stress hormone cortisol.

Based upon his extensive understanding of the complexities of acne treatment, our esteemed Dermatologists at Scar Healing Institute led by Dr. Salar Hazany have beautifully synthesized a specialized series of treatments called the Trifecta Acne Treatment.

What is the Trifecta Acne Treatment?

The Trifecta Acne Treatment is exceptionally advanced and innovative as it combines three powerful acne therapies of subcision, Phenol CROSS, and laser therapy, into one singular series.

Each procedure is used to address the different layers of the skin. The skin anatomy is separated into three sublevels: the epidermis (top layer), dermis (middle layer), and the hypodermis (subcutaneous fat layer).

Dr. Hazany’s treatment is designed to complete three major milestones: provide new tissue growth from beneath the skin, on the surface of the skin, and from within the skin. This article details the process of each of the three procedures of the Trifecta Acne Treatment.

New Tissue Growth Starting From Beneath the Skin

The first procedure is subcision (also known as subcutaneous incisionless surgery), which is used to separate scar tissue in the epidermis and dermis from the underlying subcutaneous adipose fiber tissue, thus flattening existing skin depression.

It is regarded as a common and minor surgical procedure that breaks the fibrotic strands of the connective tissue that holds down the anchored epidermis, allowing for the elevation of the scar after the procedure. This procedure can be achieved with a very precise surgical device or needle that cuts the scar parallel to the skin surface.

The breakage of the tethered skin then causes a small hematoma injury to form, releasing growth factors that allow for skin and collagen regeneration that eventually fill in the gaps between the epidermis and the dermis. This allows for new tissue to start growing beneath the skin and for old damaged fibers to be remodeled to beautiful parallel strands of collagen.

There are several types of subcision techniques including the Taylor Liberator Subcision, Mid Dermal Subcision (Cannula), and Superficial Dermal Subcision (Needle). All of them are performed here at Scar Healing Institute.
