Stop Hiding Your Skin & Show Off Your Glow
No more heavy makeup or hiding your face in photos—the Scar Healing Institute can help you leave your acne scars in the past.
With laser skin resurfacing in Beverly Hills, we smooth raised scars, soften deep indents, and blend uneven tone for a clearer, smoother complexion.
Laser skin resurfacing reaches beneath the surface to break down damaged tissue, stimulate collagen, and support healthier-looking skin. This makes it a versatile option for both acne scar removal and scar revision.
Here’s what you can expect from your laser scar treatment with us:
Types of Lasers We Use to Smooth & Heal Your Skin
We use several different lasers to target specific layers of your skin and treat scars, uneven texture, and pigmentation. The right laser depends on your skin type, the depth of the scar or damage, and the results you want to achieve:
The Er:YAG laser precisely removes thin layers of damaged skin while minimizing heat to surrounding tissue, improving surface texture with shorter recovery times.
Best For:
- Shallow acne scars
- Fine lines and surface wrinkles
- Uneven skin texture
CO₂ lasers penetrate deeper into the skin to remove damaged tissue and stimulate collagen production, most effective for deeper scars and advanced resurfacing.
Best For:
- Deep acne scars
- Sun-damaged skin
- Significant skin texture irregularities
These lasers work beneath the skin’s surface without removing the outer layer to stimulate collagen, break up pigmentation, and improve skin tone with minimal downtime.
Best For:
- Hyperpigmentation and discoloration
- Mild scarring and texture irregularities
- Maintenance treatments for skin rejuvenation
Is Laser Skin Resurfacing Right for You?
Laser skin resurfacing works below the surface to remodel scar tissue, stimulate collagen production, and create gradual improvements in the way your skin looks and feels.
Depending on your scar type and the laser selected, treatment may help:
- Smooth rough or uneven skin texture
- Soften the edges of indented acne scars
- Reduce the depth and visibility of certain scars
- Improve discoloration and uneven skin tone
- Create a clearer, more consistent complexion
- Continue improving the skin as new collagen develops over time
Laser resurfacing is not the only option for acne scars. At Scar Healing Institute, your treatment plan may also include SHI CROSS, subcision, or injectable treatments based on the shape, depth, and behavior of each scar.
During your consultation, we determine where laser treatment can deliver the strongest improvement and where another technique or combination plan may produce better results.
Why SHI Leads in Laser and Scar Revision Treatments
Patients in Beverly Hills and across California come to the Scar Healing Institute because they want results that last, not quick, surface-level fixes. Our laser treatments are part of our complete Acne Scar Phase-Out System that strengthens your skin from the inside out.
Advanced Precision Backed by Proven Results
With every laser pulse, we target damaged tissue while protecting the surrounding healthy skin. Using precise light energy, we support smoother texture and more even tone as your skin regenerates.
Individualized Plans Built Around You
We create your treatment plan based on your scar type, skin tone, and goals, never a one-size-fits-all regimen. By choosing the right laser modality for each area, we help the deeper layers of your skin recover for long-term results.
Our Exclusive Acne Scar Phase-Out System
Laser skin resurfacing is the final refinement step in SHI’s Acne Scar Phase-Out System. After scars are analyzed, stimulated, lifted, and rebuilt through earlier phases, SHI LASE smooths surface texture, enhances tone, and brings clarity to the skin—revealing the full results of the work beneath.
How To Prepare for Your First Laser Skin Treatment Appointment
Before treatment, Dr. Hazany will closely evaluate your scar patterns, skin tone, and treatment goals to create a personalized laser plan. Based on how your skin responds and the types of scars being treated, he will select the appropriate laser settings and recommend any preparation steps needed before your appointment.
To help your skin respond well to treatment, we may recommend a few simple steps, including:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 1–2 weeks prior to treatment, as recently sun-exposed skin can increase the risk of irritation or pigmentation changes.
- Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other active skincare products for several days before your appointment unless instructed otherwise.
- Keep your skin well-hydrated and moisturized in the days leading up to treatment.
- Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, sunscreen, or skincare products on the treatment area.
- Let us know about any medications or recent treatments, including antibiotics, isotretinoin, or recent chemical peels.
- Inform us if you are prone to cold sores, as we may recommend preventive medication before laser treatment around the mouth.
What to Expect During Your Treatment & Recovery Process
During your appointment, we apply controlled laser energy to the scarred areas to break down damaged tissue and encourage healthy skin regeneration. Depending on the laser used, we may also apply a topical numbing cream. The laser creates micro-channels that your skin later fills with new collagen, and you may feel warmth or a light snapping sensation.
Here’s what you can expect as your skin heals:
- Right after treatment: Redness, warmth, or mild swelling is normal
- Days 1–3: Skin feels tight and may develop a light crust as it begins to repair
- Days 4–7: Scabs naturally shed; continue gentle moisturizing and sun avoidance
- Week 2: Pinkness fades as smoother, fresher skin becomes visible
- Weeks 4–8: Texture and tone continue to improve as collagen develops
- Months 3–6: Ongoing refinement reveals softer scars and a more even complexion
Depending on the type of laser used, there may not be any recovery downtime following the procedure.
